Programs and Special Events

The Roundhouse is collecting used ink cartridges and cell phones to recycle.  Please bring these items in the next time you visit the aquarium and put them in our box upstairs.  The Roundhouse will receive a donation for each item recycled! Upcoming Events:     Special Programs: Birthday "Sea" Parties 1-hour program Come celebrate your child's birthday with all of our sea animal friends at the Roundhouse. During this one-hour program the birthday person can dress up in a dolphin costume and they and their friends can also discover and touch live marine animals including a shark! Afterwards, you can walk to the Manhattan Pizzeria and have a pizza party or to the Manhattan Beach Creamery and have an ice cream party!   Sea Story Time When: Every Sunday Time: 11:30am Where: Upstairs in the Kids Kelp Corner at the Roundhouse Aquarium Cost: FREE! Come join us and enjoy a story about our sea life and create a craft to take home! A fun event for all ages. Weekend Feeding Frenzy When: Every Saturday Time: 12:30 pm Where: Roundhouse Aquarium Come and watch us feed our shark tank. Help us keep track of which animals eat as we feed and record it in our aquarist log. Observe feeding behaviors and if your lucky you might be able to help us throw in a few pieces. Touch Tank When: Everyday Time: during all open hours Where: Roundhouse Aquarium Come and touch our specimens in our fun touch tank. Check out the various colored starfish. Feature Creature When: Weekdays & Weekends Time: During public hours. Where: Roundhouse Aquarium Our wonderful staff and volunteers will pull out different creatures to help you learn about them more. Look at plankton under a microscope and taste it if you dare, touch a sting ray and see its gills on its belly side, learn about our artifacts and more.
